Wifi Direct won't connect
Quote from Paulo on 31/08/2025, 22:20Hi,
I have a Windows 11 PC and use a Windows 11 Laptop (HP Elite Book) as viewer. I have setup up a Wifi Hotspot on server and despite my viewer shows the Hostname and correct IP address when I click on it spacedesk try to connect and suddenly closes the trying to connect black screen sending me back to the initial screen (with the hostname and IP address for connection).
I send attached the log files when I reproduced the issue.
Thanks!

thank you for sending the diagnostics, however, it is incomplete. Please download DebugView via the download button of the spacedesk Driver Console. Run the diagnostics again while reproducing the issue.
Looking forward to the next logs. Thank you.

Also: for the first time I was able to connect spacedesk via Wifi Direct. It worked until my PC slept for a non-using time.
The following new trials all have failed.
Tried to take the diagnostics correctly this time. Attached. Thanks!

thank you for sending the diagnostics.
We are unable to reproduce the issue on our side. Does the issue also happen if you connect via your other network (LAN)?

based on the logs, the client side is not responding.
Please try to use software encoding and lower image quality. You can set this on the viewer’s settings.

I appreciate you reply. Nevertheless, lowering the image quality and setting forced software encoding didn’t fix the issue and I still am not able to connect via windows hotspot.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

thank you for trying.
In rare cases, the third party antivirus might interfere with the connection. Did you include spacedesk in the firewall settings of your antivirus? Could you please try to turn off the third party antivirus for a few minutes and check if spacedesk is connecting properly?

Quote from Paulo on 10/09/2025, 04:32Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the issue is still happening even with both computers AV shields paused.
On server the hotspot adapter shows like attached. I think it’s a bit strange, maybe? Any clues can be taken from this?
