Cannot detect Server – MSI to Surface Pro 5

Hi, I got an MSi Thin B12UC-1680XES and I’d like to use my Surface Pro 5 as a second screen to draw.

I installed both softwares (driver and client) but the client doesn’t detect any Server.

When I installed the Spacedesk Driver a message had appeared saying that Avast does not recognize spacedeskservice.exe I tried to make an exception in Avast however I cannot find spacedeskservice.exe in the direction mentioned in another post C:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe or anywhere else to do so.

I also bought a USB-C (MSi) to Mini Display Port (Surface) cable to connect both units should this cable work with Spacedesk?

I add the debug files. Can you help me?

Solved. I changed my antivirus.

However it’s working with the Wifi connection and it’s pretty lagged (becouse of my Wifi connection). As I said I bought a USB-C to mini DisplayPort. I have it connected to both units but in the tab CONNECTIONS it sais 0 USB connected.

Is there the option to work with this cable? Should I eneble anything? Will it work with another cable?

Hi @sergi,

Connection via USB is only available for Android and iOS viewers for now. To improve performance, please refer to spacedesk’s Documentation under the section „Performance Tuning.“

Hi, I have the same problem with avast to connect my PC with Ipad.

When i turn off avast it is connected.. I tried to add something to avast firewall but probably i made some mistakes… Can you give me specific instructions on what to do so I can use spacedesk and avast at the same time?

I saw tha inforamtion in othere post, but i don’t know where to add it and how:

We noticed that you have Avast Antivirus/Firewall on your primary machine.
Please make sure to add spacedesk in the exception list.
The following are the spacedesk details you might need for manual setting:
service name: spacedeskService
file path: C:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe
TCP/IP Port: 28252
UDP Port: 28252
