Limit Power Feature / Prevent Phone from charging
Zitat von Dallin24 am 28/02/2025, 10:27 UhrI am very new to all this and am unsure about the possibility of this, however would it be possible to have a feature that limits or prevents the laptop from providing power to charge the phone? I understand how some power has to be used in order to make the phone work as a second display, and while I am very happy with the performance I have between my Windows ARM Laptop and my iPhone over a wired connection, it is unfortunate that my phone is also taking so much power from my laptop battery in order to charge itself.
Is there a way, either from the iPhone or Windows side, that I could disable, or at least limit that charge the phone gets from the laptop?

It’s a great question, and I understand your concern about preserving your laptop’s battery life. Unfortunately, there isn’t a built-in feature in Windows or iOS that allows you to completely disable charging your phone when connected to your laptop. However, there are a few workarounds you can try:
Use a Data-Only USB Cable: Some USB cables are designed to only transfer data and not provide power. Using such a cable can prevent your phone from drawing power from your laptop Home Depot Survey
USB Hub with Power Control: Some USB hubs come with power control features that allow you to disable charging for connected devices. You can connect your phone to such a hub to prevent it from charging.
Battery Saver Mode: On your laptop, you can enable Battery Saver mode to limit power consumption. While this won’t stop your phone from charging, it can help manage your laptop’s overall power usage.
