Spacedesk Free for Non-Commercial Use Only" Error and USB Connection Issue

Dear Spacedesk Support Team,

First of all, thank you for providing such a useful service. I have been using Spacedesk for personal purposes as a student and have been very satisfied. However, I have recently encountered an issue and need your assistance to resolve it.

I am trying to connect my tablet and phone to my computer via USB, but the connection suddenly stopped working. When I tried to reconnect, I received the following error message: ”Spacedesk Free for Non-Commercial Use Only.”

Since then, I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Updated the Spacedesk application and drivers to the latest version.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled both the application and drivers.
  • Verified my USB cable by testing it with other devices.
  • Attempted to connect via Wi-Fi (which works without any issues).

Unfortunately, I have not been able to restore the USB connection. I am using the service solely for personal and educational purposes and not for any commercial use. I would like to know what other steps I can take to resolve this issue.

I kindly request your assistance in resolving the matter. If there are any additional details or log files you require, I will be happy to provide them.

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your response.

Hi @abdulsamet,

The message quoted above is not an error message. It informs the user that he has a free license instead of a business license. After you connect via USB, do you get a prompt on your viewer device to connect to spacedesk or does spacedesk automatically connect? When you do connect, do you only get a black screen or is there a message on the viewer screen that says „Connected – Display Off“?

I have encountered with the same error its say connected-display off

Hi @waasay,

Can you check in the Display Settings if there are any displays besides the main display, like in the image attached below?

Hi it does not give me the option when the error appears like my laptop doesn’t pick it up

Hi @waasay,

Can you also check “Incompatible Software Products” in the spacedesk Driver console if you have any incompatible software installed in your PC? Does connecting via Wifi work? Also, what devices are you using?
