Spacedesk no longer connecting properly
Zitat von Andy am 10/10/2025, 05:54 UhrHello!
I have had spacedesk working for about a week but all of a sudden today, when I try to connect all I get is a black screen with the text „Connected – Display OFF“ bouncing around. I have tried uninstalling both the app and the driver and have reinstalled the android app as well as the new 2.20.06 driver but the issue still persists.
Running on a Win11 PC and connecting to a Google Pixel Slate
I have attached the zip of the debug diagnostics folder

thank you for sending the diagnostics. It showed that there was a failure in initializing the virtual display. Please reboot your Windows PC and try spacedesk again.

please try the following:
– check in Windows display settings if the spacedesk display is detached. If it is, set it to extended or mirrored display.
– update the graphics adapter driver to the latest version
– in the spacedesk viewer settings, select Software EncodingIf none of the above helped, please send again the diagnostics.

Zitat von Andy am 17/10/2025, 02:23 UhrHi @spacedesk_nicole
My spacedesk randomly worked once the other day but then when I needed it today I have the black screen with „Connected – Display Off“ error again.
I have checked the Windows display settings and it does recognize that I have a 3rd screen attached and my display is extended. My tablet also shows up listed in the spacedesk Driver Console connections
I have the latest nvidia studio driver 581.57
I’ve set the encoding type to software encoding from the default automatic selection but that didn’t change anything
I have attached my diagnostics again

Zitat von spacedesk Nicole am 17/10/2025, 03:28 UhrHi @andy-4,
thank you for the update. Our spacedesk display driver failed to create a DirectX device using the Nvidia GPU. Usually, this can be fixed by a reboot but in your case, it is possible that your machine is running out of RAM.
Do you have a game running or any application that heavily relies on the GPU? If yes, could you please try to connect spacedesk first before running the game/application and see if the spacedesk viewer shows the frames.
Please also try to use a smaller resolution for spacedesk.
