Which License to Buy?
Zitat von Jaime am 22/01/2025, 06:59 UhrGood afternoon!
I have been looking for a way to use my Asus Ally X with my Android tablet and found Spacedesk to be the perfect solution. However, I am unsure which license I need to buy to use my tablet’s keyboard, as the programs says the license is required. The Ally X is using the windows client and the tablet is using the android app. I bought the license on the tablet, but it wouldn’t let me use the keyboard, so I requested a refund, and decided I should ask here before I rebuy the license on the Ally X. So, in order to successfully connect the Ally X to the tablet and use the tablet’s keyboard, which license do I need?
Thank you!

To be clear, both your Asus Ally X and the Android tablet are viewers? Which device do you connect to?

Zitat von Jaime am 22/01/2025, 09:26 UhrThanks for the speedy reply. I am trying to use the tablet as a second screen for the Ally. The tablet is a Xiaomi Pad 6 and the keyboard is a part of it, not connected through Bluetooth. I successfully connected the Ally to the tablet, but I wasn’t able to use the keyboard. I got a message saying I would need a license.

Zitat von spacedesk Renz am 22/01/2025, 09:43 UhrHi @jaime,
Ok, so you installed the Driver to your Asus Ally. If you’re connecting via Wifi, you need to enable encryption in the Driver console for you to be able to use the Android tablet’s keyboard over Wifi, but you can only connect to a Driver with encryption enabled if you have purchased a Business License via in-app purchase in your spacedesk Viewer in your tablet. You can also connect via USB if you wish to use your Android tablet’s keyboard with a free license. You may refer to the Documentation under section Viewer Platform and Features for further information.

Zitat von Jaime am 22/01/2025, 09:46 UhrThank you for that. The USB situation was going to be my next question. I’ll follow the guide and try to get it working. I’ve tried a few different cables, but it hasn’t connected via USB yet. I’ll try resetting both devices.
