Windows 11 – Touch not working on W11 client because intercepted – Was fine on iPad

Hi,

I’m using Windows 11 on both Primary and Secondary devices. Secondary (HP Envy X360 16) has a touch-screen.

When touching the screen, spacedesk’s client green bar appears, intercepting any touch event. So only mouse events are working.

Previously, I was using an iPad as the secondary device, and wasn’t having the issue. The green bar was not displayed, and the touch events were correctly interpreted.

Interestingly, after tweaking many parameters on the Windows 11 secondary, it started to work as expected. But then it reverted back to the unwanted behavior. I haven’t been able to reproduce the correct one since then.

I also read all the documentation, did some searches on this forum, without success.

How can I use the touch feature on the secondary device?

Thank you.

Hi,

Any hint?

Thank you.

Hi @nospam,

For the Windows Viewer, remote connection has to be initiated either by a mouse click or three simultaneous taps on the viewer screen, though the three taps are a bit unreliable for now and we’re working on a fix to improve it. After initiating remote control, touch should work just as in the iOS viewer.

Hi,

Thank you for the answer. I’ll give it a try, and will let you know.

Regards.

EDIT: went fine, thanks! I had seen the remote control feature, and tried it. It indeed enabled me to controle the Primary Device from the Secondary. A reverse control so to speak.

That’s certainly how it temporarily enabled me to use touch features on the secondary device, as well. But I could not reproduce it, because “Remote Control”, does not immediately suggests to me “Stop touch events to be intercepted” 🙂 Maybe worthwhile adding a note on it in the documentation?
