[Bug] Can't open client app in full screen on iPad on the second screen

Page 1 of 2Next

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Server is on Win 11, client is on iPad
  2. Connect to spacedesk server in the app on iPad
  3. Connect iPad to an external display
  4. Move spacedesk app to the external display
  5. Press “Full screen” to see the app in full screen on the external display

Expected:

  • Spacedesk app opens in full screen on the external screen to see the remote desktop in full screen.

Actual:

  • Pressing “Full screen” just ignored. Spacedesk app doesn’t know how to transform itself for a full screen. Changing app window size also does not work.

Hi @dima,

Can you send a screenshot of the issue you’re describing? And how are you connecting your iPad to an external display?

Hello @spacedesk-renz,

Attached the screenshot of an external display which was connected to iPad via USB-C. The window on the screen is spacedesk, and it can’t be resized to full screen, and can’t be resized at all.

Hi @dima,

Are you using an app to cast your iPad screen to your external screen?

No! Again, as I said above: iPad is connected to an external display via USB-C.

Hi @dima,

Got it, we’ll get back to you once we have investigated the issue further. Thank you.

@spacedesk-renz

If it will be helpful, the background is the following: a person has two homes, in one they have a PC, in another – an external display. The person is in the second home now with their iPad, they connects it to an external display via USB-C, enables VPN to a local network in the first home, and connects to their PC remotely using spacedesk. As they has an external display, they wants to see the remote display of the PC in full screen on the external display, but that’s simply doesn’t work.

Hi @dima,

Thank you for the additional information. From the screenshot, it looks like the external screen is connected to a Mac. Is it connected to a Mac device or is it a standalone external screen?

OMG!!! How many times should I say to you that iPad is connected to an external display via USB-C cable??? It doesn’t look like it is connected to a Mac, it exactly looks like it is connected to an iPad. Google the iPadOS user interface or something before writing this. Lol.

Hi @dima,

I see, apologies for mistaking the UI for the Mac desktop. Can you provide the specific model of the iPad you’re using? Thank you.
