Cursor behaviour problem when viewing Firefox screens

Hi,

I have Spacedesk set up to mirror my Windows 11 laptop display on my Android tablet via a USB connection.

I have noticed that if I am viewing a Firefox web page, each time the mouse cursor crosses over between the Firefox  “address bar” and the main Firefox display area, the cursor disappears for a second or two.  Surprisingly, this only happens on the Windows display, not on the tablet display which is mirroring it.

And it seems specific to Firefox – doesnt happen for example when I’m looking at File Explorer screens.

Here is a link to a video showing this.

Hi @dave_wildenhotmail-com,

does it still happen on the main display even without a spacedesk viewer connected?

No, only with SpaceDesk connected.

Hi @dave_wildenhotmail-com,

is this only happening during mirror? What about extended displays?

Which version of Firefox browser are you running? Is it updated to the latest?

For further analysis of the issue, please send us the logs of your server machine by opening the spacedesk Driver console and clicking on Diagnostics then follow the steps below:

1. Download the DebugView.
2. Check the Diagnostic Collection box.
3. Reproduce the issue (same as the video from the link you sent above)
4. Uncheck the Diagnostic Collection box.
5. Click “Save All Information” button (this might take a while to finish).
6. Compress/Zip the folder which contains the logs, then attach to your next reply to this post. If the folder exceeds 512kb, you may upload it to Dropbox or GDrive then include the download link on your next reply.

Thank you.

Hi,

I have realised that I misled you.  The web browser I am having the problem with is Chrome  not Firefox.

BTW I have just tried using Microsoft Edge, and the same issue is happening with that.

In answer to your questions:

  1.  I have updated to the lastest version of Chrome and the problem is still happening.
  2. It only happens when I mirror the display, not when the tablet is set as an extended desktop.

I have attached the log file you asked for.

Regards

Dave

Hi @dave_wildenhotmail-com,

The logs you sent were incomplete. Please send the entire diagnostics folder generated after clicking “Save All Information” to your next reply. When a prompt appears after clicking the Save All Information button, click Yes then once the Driver console reopens, click on Save All Information again. Thank you.

Here’s a link to new logs

I have just been experimernting myself, and the problem seems to be related to the fact that I have my mouse cursor set to “inverted”.

To set this in Windows 11 go to Settings…Accessibility…Mouse pointer and touch…Mouse Pointer and Styl

and select the 3rd option from the left (inverted).

When I select White or Black instead the problem does not happen.

Hi @dave_wildenhotmail-com,

Thank you for sending your logs. We tried to reproduce the issue on our end but was not able to. Can you make sure that your GPU drivers are up to date, then try to reproduce the issue again on your end? Is it possible that you have some other setting enabled that’s causing the issue? Thank you.
