[SOLVED] H264 encoder initialization failed on server side
Hello,
This error “usb session closed by server: h264 encoder initialization failed on server side” started now on monday, by last friday was working normally, at first there were no changes on the client or the server.
Server is a Windows 11 24h2, app version 2.2.04.
Client is an Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, version 2.1.30.

hardware encoding was recently introduced in spacedesk.
It seems that on your Windows machine, the Nvidia H264 Encoder MFT is missing – it is not listed underneath Video Encoders in the spacedeskDiag.txt that you’ve sent us.
I suggest to update the driver version of your Nvidia graphics adapter. This may or may not install the components required for hardware encoding.
In case the Nvidia driver update did not help, switch to Software Encoding MJPEG (forced) in the spacedesk Android Viewer app. The option is available in the menu Settings -> Quality/Performance.
My card is an GT730, very old card used only for enable a second monitor. The app is used for the third “monitor”.
I enabled the Software Encoding MJPEG (forced) and it worked very well, thanks for the support.
