USB connection not detected

Hi,

I’m trying to get the USB connection to work.
My notebook is Dell XPS with Windows 11 (up to date). the device to connect is a Pixel7 Pro.
I tried different cables and have no USB-Hub inbetween.
I tried with and without USB-Debugging enabled on the phone.
Tools like “scrcpy” work fine. SmartPhone-Link is also running.

Nothing I tried gives any hint for an connection attempt.

Any ideas?
Greetings Harry

Hi @harold,

Do you have a USB 2.0 cable that you can use to test? Also, is the USB mode of your viewer device set to MTP, Transferring files, PTP, or Transferring photos? You can check this via the phone’s settings while connected via USB to your laptop and spacedesk USB Cable Android is turned off.

ok

Hi @spacedesk-renz,

thanks for the fast answer.
The hint with PTP solved it. I now found a combinations which works.
An older cable and explicitly selecting PTP.
Very interesting is: when selecting PTP android automatically switches back to “file transfer”, but it works.

Thanks.

BTW: it would be great if this forum would sent out notification mails to inform about replies.
