USB connection not working on old tablets Android 4.1

Page 1 of 2Next

After searching through the topics regarding USB issues i believe i ran out of options by now.

I have two very outdated BQ maxwell plus tablets, that work without issues via wireless. Version 2.1.16 installed on the tablets.

Though via USB i cannot connect. On PC having the option on, under “connections” i have zero USB connected. It is only happening with these 2 tablets. I have another android 11 tablet that connects through USB C without isse. Also my ipad connects via cable.

Debbugging turned off, USB mode in “USB storage” , and i can copy files from the PC to the tablets, which was the first thing i did because i had to copy the APK directly to the tablet as the play store doesn´t work anymore in these things.

Tried multiple cables. All of them transfer files between the tablets and the computer but none can connect spacedesk.  My PC only has USB 3 ports as far as i know (all blue)

PC version 2.1.35

Hi @tiago,

For further analysis of the issue, please send us the logs of your server machine by opening the spacedesk Driver console and clicking on Diagnostics then follow the steps below:

1. Download the DebugView.
2. Check the Diagnostic Collection box.
3. Reproduce the issue e.g. by connecting the spacedesk Viewer app via USB.
4. Uncheck the Diagnostic Collection box.
5. Click “Save All Information” button (this might take a while to finish).
6. Compress/Zip the folder which contains the logs, then attach to your next reply to this post. If the folder exceeds 512kb, you may upload it to Dropbox or GDrive then include the download link on your next reply.

Thank you.

Hi @tiago,

Some files are missing from the logs you sent. Can you try to send them again using the steps on my previous reply? Also, can you check in Device Manager if there’s any device that has a yellow mark beside it? Thank you!

Ran the app as administrator. Followed the steps as mentioned. As for “reproducing the issue” there isn´t much to reproduce because nothing happens when the USB is plugged. I simply get a message on the android device mentioning “before connecting usb cable, enable USB cable android…. etc” and the PC server app sees no USB device connected, though i can open windows explorer and see the system files on the android device.  On the device manager i don´t see any yellow marks as in “missing drivers”.

Hi @tiago,

There were issues with the .etl files you send so we’re sending another trace that would check for issues on your USB connection. Please download it and follow the steps below:
1. Run file “spacedeskDriverAndroidUSBTracesON.cmd” as admin.
2. Check USB Cable Android on the spacedesk Driver console
3. When prompted, connect the device via USB.
4. Click any key to continue.
5. Run file “spacedeskDriverAndroidUSBTracesOFF.cmd” as admin.
6. Upon saving of ETL files, copy them into a folder then compress and attach to your next reply.

If there are any errors in the trace, please send us a screenshot and attach it also to your next reply. Thank you.

Hi. The last file you sent only has the “spacedeskDriverAndroidUSBTracesOnOff.cmd” not the spacedeskDriverAndroidUSBTracesOn/spacedeskDriverAndroidUSBTracesOff

Hi @tiago,
