USB support on iPad 4th gen / iOS app v 1.0.44 ?

Hi,

Does the iOS app version 1.0.44 support connection over USB?

I have the Spacedesk iOS app v 1.0.44 on my old iPad 4th gen (I believe this is the last version supported for this iPad?). I cannot get a connection over USB to a Windows 11 server, even after installing/running iTunes and making sure the Apple Mobile Device Service is running on the Windows 11 machine.

I can connect this iPad to a Windows Server over Wifi, but after working for a few minutes it disconnects.

Hi @zespace,

spacedesk iOS Viewer v1.0.44 does not support USB cable connection.

You may try to setup USB tethering (https://manual.spacedesk.net/USBTetheringiOSandAndroid.html) or try Performance Tuning (https://manual.spacedesk.net/PERFORMANCETUNING.html) and check if spacedesk is disconnecting.

Hello,

Thank you for confirming that USB cable connection is not supported for this version.

This iPad is Wifi-only and therefore does not support USB tethering, but thank you for the Performance Tuning link! This provided the idea of connecting the iPad to a personal hotspot from the Windows machine. I am still testing this method now and so far the connection seems to be more stable.
