Hardware Encoder stopped working.

Page 1 of 2Next

I dont know if anyone else is having this problem but as I was using spacedesk, with the hardware encoder since it works better and doesnt lag me all that much as the soft encoder does, and suddenly spacedesk closed and wouldnt reconnect with the hardware encoder. I tried what I could to see if it would fix but it just shows me a black screen and would either say it failed to connect or stay on a black screen.

Hi @saikou83,

On which platform are you encountering this issue with Hardware encoding?

On my Android device.

ok so apparently the screen does work its just that the screen display shows a black screen, touch works fine.

Hi @saikou83,

Have you updated your spacedesk App to the latest version 2.1.34? If not, please do so and then try again if there’s still a black screen on your end.

both my devices have been updated, maybe its the androids update version because it auto updates for me and this problem started later today.

Hi @saikou83,

Got it, thank you. Can you provide the model of your viewer device? Also, for further analysis of the issue, please send us the logs of your Primary PC by opening the spacedesk Driver console as administrator and clicking on Diagnostics then follow the steps below:

1. Download the DebugView.
2. Check the Diagnostic Collection box.
3. Reproduce the issue e.g. by connecting the spacedesk Viewer app.
4. Uncheck the Diagnostic Collection box.
5. Click “Save All Information” button (this might take a while to finish).
6. Compress/Zip the folder which contains the logs, then attach to your next reply to this post. If the folder exceeds 512kb, you may upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive then include the download link on your next reply.

Thank you.

My Android version is Android 7 model from Picassotab

Hi @saikou83,

Thank you for sending your logs. Can you try changing the resolution to see if that would fix the black screen?

I’ve tried changing the resolution, it gave me a hardware decoder error.
