“connected – display off”

Quote from H. on 21/08/2026, 18:15

Thanks.
I was able to fully uninstall old version and installed the 2.2.29
but driver on host pc is crashing and freezes my external monitor (I’m using a motorola cellphone).
I must run this two commands
taskkill /F /IM spacedeskService.exe
sc start spacedeskService
in order to reopen spacedesk but 2 to 10 minutes later it crashes again.

“connected – display off”
is the message on the cellphone.

And, yes, the app is updated to the last version.

Hi @h-3,

We split this from your other topic because this is already a different issue from the one described in your earlier post.

For further analysis of the issue, please send us the logs of your Primary PC by opening the spacedesk Driver console as administrator and clicking on Diagnostics then follow the steps below:

1. Download the DebugView.
2. Check the Diagnostic Collection box.
3. Reproduce the issue e.g. by connecting the spacedesk Viewer app.
4. Uncheck the Diagnostic Collection box.
5. Click “Save All Information” button (this might take a while to finish).
6. Compress/Zip the folder which contains the logs, then attach to your next reply to this post. If the folder exceeds 512kb, you may upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive then include the download link on your next reply.

Thank you.

Hi @h-3,

A fix for the issue has been included in the latest spacedesk Driver Package v2.2.30 which is now available for download in the Downloads page. Please try it and give us your feedback. Thank you.

I am experiencing an issue where my Android tablet successfully connects to my primary machine, but the screen remains blank and shows the message: „connected – display off“.

Here are my system details:
Primary Machine: Windows 11 (Running the latest Spacedesk Driver)
Secondary Machine: Android tablet (Running the latest Spacedesk Viewer app)
Both the Windows server and the Android viewer are completely up to date. I have already tried reconnecting, but the issue persists.

This exact setup was working perfectly without any issues for a few months. The problem only started a few days ago.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @andrej, @h-3,

A fix for this issue has been released in the latest spacedesk Driver Package v2.2.31. Please download it from the Downloads page and check if this resolves your issue. Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for the update.

I have downloaded and installed the latest driver package v2.2.31, but unfortunately, nothing has changed. The „connected – display off“ issue still persists exactly as before.

I have attached the debug file to this post. Please let me know if you need any additional information or logs.

Thanks again for looking into this.

Hi, not sure if this is the same root cause as yours since „Connected – Display Off“ can happen for a few different reasons, but sharing in case it matches.

I had this exact message (Windows 11 primary machine, screen just staying black on connect) right after updating my Nvidia driver. My setup: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (which has its own integrated graphics on the CPU) + a dedicated Nvidia GPU. Turned out that after the driver update, Windows seemed to associate the spacedesk virtual display with the CPU’s integrated graphics instead of the Nvidia GPU, and the integrated graphics couldn’t actually drive it — so it showed as connected but never produced an image.

What fixed it for me: disabled the CPU’s integrated graphics adapter in Device Manager, opened the spacedesk viewer and reconnected (worked immediately), then re-enabled the integrated graphics afterward without breaking the connection again.

A couple questions that might help narrow down if this applies to you too:
– Does your primary PC have both an integrated GPU (on the CPU) and a separate dedicated GPU?
– Did Windows install any graphics driver update automatically (even without you doing it manually) right before this started a few days ago?

If you don’t have an integrated GPU on the CPU, this probably isn’t your issue — but if you do, it might be worth trying the disable/reconnect/re-enable trick before digging further into logs.

(Note: I don’t speak English natively, so I used an AI assistant to help translate/write this reply clearly. The technical details and the fix described are exactly what I did on my own system.)

i have this problem after nvidia RTX 5070fe driver update but my integrated gpu is disabled on bios.. i do have a emudriver ati hd5000 card for retrobat emulation 240p but nothing happen if i disable it

Hi @noslow,

Your issue is separate from the issue @andrej is encountering. Yours should be fixed now by the spacedesk Driver Package v2.2.31. No need to disable your integrated GPU.

I really hope that nvidia will fix this. I attach my logs if it an help
