No spacedesk Virtual Speaker / Audio device not created (Windows 11 25H2, Driver 2.2.25)
Zitat von Agrim am 13/07/2026, 15:57 UhrHello spacedesk team,
I have been troubleshooting a remote audio issue for several hours and would appreciate your assistance.
System Information
——————
Server:
– Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200) x64
– spacedesk Windows DRIVER v2.2.25
– Also tested v2.2.17Viewer:
– Windows 10
– Viewer version 0.0.41.0Connection:
– LAN/Wi-FiProblem
——-
Display extension works perfectly. The Viewer has Audio enabled, but no audio is redirected.
There is no “spacedesk Virtual Speaker” playback device.
Observations
————
– spacedeskdriveraudio.inf installs successfully.
– spacedesk Virtual Bus is installed and running.
– spacedesk Graphics Adapter is created.
– spacedesk virtual HID devices are created.
– However, no spacedesk audio device is created.
– There is no spacedesk MEDIA device in Device Manager.
– AudioClientConnected remains 0 while connected.
– DisplayClientConnected works normally.Additional Information
———————-
Previously I remember seeing a greyed-out spacedesk audio device in Device Manager, although audio still did not work. After reinstalling/upgrading, the audio device disappeared completely.
Diagnostics already performed
—————————–
– Multiple clean reinstalls
– Tested Driver v2.2.17 and v2.2.25
– Checked Device Manager
– Checked hidden devices
– Checked PnP devices
– Checked driver installation logs
– setupapi.dev.log shows no installation errors for spacedeskdriveraudio.inf
– Driver package exists in Driver Store
– Virtual Bus exists but no audio child device is enumeratedSince we’ve dug into this pretty deeply just using gpt so idk, the bug is :
The Virtual Bus enumerates Graphics and HID child devices correctly, but no audio child device is ever created.
Diagnostic bundle is attached.
Could you please advise why the virtual audio endpoint is never being created?
Thank you.
