[SOLVED] Artifacts and stuttering issues
Quote from Krumist on 27/06/2026, 18:51Hello. Lately I have been experiencing an issue of the viewer artifacts/stuttering/rubber-banding.
It only started happening after I was dual-booting Linux Mint, I switched to it for a month and upon coming back noticed spacedesk wasn’t the same, before that, it was running fine.
I have tried all available settings on the viewer app, unfortunately nothing seemed to help.
Here are the diagnostics,

Best regards.

Thank you for sending your logs. Can you send us a video of the issue so we can check? You may upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive then send us the link of the file. Also, on the viewer, can you try changing the Encoding Type to “Software MJPEG (forced)” to see if you still encounter the issue with this setting? Thank you. Please make sure to update to the most recent spacedesk App version 2.1.36. Thank you.

I have in fact tried all 3 of the encoding types, nothing seemed to help.
Updating Spacedesk also did not help, I’ve updated Spacedesk twice since the issue. Here is a video of the issue, artifacts seems to have gone but the rubber-banding/stuttering is still there and very noticeable.

Thank you for sending your video. We saw in your logs that the last update of your Intel Iris graphics adapter was in 2023. Can you check if there’s an updated version of it?
Have you tried checking your CPU and RAM usage while using spacedesk? If these are high while using spacedesk, it might cause the issue.
Also, can you try connecting again via USB with Software Encoding to check if the issue occurs with those settings? You can also try lowering the resolution to improve performance.

Thank you for the help, updating my Intel drivers did in fact fix it as far as I can tell.
Turns out the program I was using to update my other drivers that came with my laptop didn’t update my Intel drivers.
I appreciate you taking the time to help. Thank you.
