Black screen on secondary Android, USB connection

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Hi,

Yes, I can.

Any updates to make it work?  THanks.

Hi @serpa4,

You can try the following workarounds to see if any of them works for you.
Workaround 1:
1. Go to Settings > Quality/Performance
2. Click on Encoding Type, then select Software Encoding MJPEG (forced)

Workaround 2:
Use a USB 2.0 cable to connect.

Thanks, have tried those settings already and have 2 very high TB4 cables.   I’ve also used the same cables for USB to desktop monitors before on the same computer.  Just have not got computer to galaxy so 14.6″ tablet to work even with your drivers.

Hi @serpa4,

There’s a known issue with using spacedesk with Thunderbolt 4 cables so we suggest using older USB 2.0 cables if you have them.

Thank you.  I tried several different brands of USB4/Thunderbolt cables and none worked.  I tried my other lesser cables, usb-c and it works with several of them just fine.

Thanks for the fix, TB4 cables did not work.

Still hoping for a resolution of this…

I have just completely uninstalled and reinstalled (with latest versions) both the Windows driver and Android viewer, and have tried another USB cable. The result is unchanged.

My circumstances do not permit a wireless connection, and the Android tablet just has a micro-USB connection – which significantly limits alternative options.

If a software resolution is not possible, would it be a sensible idea to obtain a micro-USB to ethernet converter, and then try to establish a wired connection through ethernet?

I’ve tried this now and, sadly, it doesn’t work.

Looks like I’m going to have to abandon Spacedesk – this showstopper issue has remained unresolved for 2 months now.

But thanks to the developers for providing a utility that was really useful while it lasted.

Hi @scargy,

Apologies for not being able to reply to you sooner. Have you tried connecting your Android device to your PC via USB Tethering as an alternative to direct USB? For more info regarding connecting via USB tethering, please refer to the Documentation in the section “USB Tethering (iOS and Android)“. Thank you.
