I was having a similar black screen issue with viewer v2.1.30

Driver: v2.2.25 on Windows 11 x64
Viewer: was version 2.1.30 on Samsung table with Android 16. Updated to v2.1.37.
Connected via USB-C cable.
Tablet screen resolution is 1900×1200.

Initially with viewer 2.1.30 I was getting the black screen. Switching to forced software encoding allowed it to work.

After updating to viewer v2.1.37, it now works with any encoding setting, but appears to be falling back to software encoding. When the tablet connects, a message pops up that says “1900×1200: No hardware acceleration for resolution”. Is this expected?

Software rendering seems to be working properly.

Thanks

My post above should have said 1920×1200, not 1900×1200.

Hi @chungus12,

We split your post from the original post since this is a different topic.

The popup that appears is to inform you that the selected resolution is not supported by your device’s Hardware Encoder, so the Viewer falls back to Software Encoding. You can try other resolutions to see if they work. You can check in the spacedesk Driver Console if your connected device’s encoding type is Software or Hardware under Connections > USB.
