Possible Video Wall Bug in Driver 2.2.24 (iPad Viewer)

Hello spacedesk team,

I believe I may have found a bug related to the Video Wall feature in the current Windows Driver version.

Setup:

  • Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
  • spacedesk Driver: 2.2.24 (Free Edition)
  • iPad Viewer: 2.1.5
  • Connection via Wi-Fi (same network)
  • One single iPad connected as display client
  • Display duplication works correctly

Observed behavior:

  1. With Video Wall Mode disabled:
    • The iPad appears under “VIDEOWALL > Unassigned”.
    • Selecting the iPad shows all Video Wall settings (Wall Index, Position, Rotation, Flip, etc.).
    • However, none of these settings are editable. I cannot enter values, change settings, or activate the Flip checkbox.
  2. With Video Wall Mode enabled:
    • The Video Wall tree structure disappears.
    • “VideoWall0”, “VideoWall1”, and “Unassigned” are no longer available.
    • Therefore it becomes impossible to assign the iPad to a wall or configure any Video Wall settings.

Expected behavior:

According to the Video Wall documentation, the connected display should remain available under “Unassigned” so it can be assigned to a Video Wall and configured.

Additional information:

  • The iPad is detected correctly and receives the duplicated desktop image.
  • Network connection is stable.
  • The issue occurs consistently after every restart.
  • I have already tried enabling/disabling Video Wall Mode multiple times and selecting VideoWall0 directly.

Could you please confirm whether this is a known issue in Driver 2.2.24 or whether there is an additional configuration step required?

Thank you.

Hi @smilz,

Thank you for your detailed input. Regarding your observations:

  1. This is the intended behavior. The settings are only editable while Videowall mode is turned on.
  2. This is possibly a UI bug of the Driver Console, though not reproducible on every PC. We will report it to our development team for a possible fix on the next version of the Driver Package. In the meantime, can you closing then reopening the spacedesk Driver Console after turning Videowall mode on to see if the UI updates and the arrow next to “Videowall” appears?

Thank you.
