[SOLVED] SpaceDesk 2.2.24 and Android 2.1.35 H264 Encoding show black screen and 0 FPS

Hi SpaceDesk team,

I’ve been using this app mainly for work and was a great help making my android tablet to extra screen.

but on the latest update on Desktop 2.2.24 makes my android only show black screen and 0 FPS, after investigating, the touch interaction still can be used, I set it as trackpad.

I can use the software encoding to show, but the performance are not as good as hardware encoding

here I attach my diagnostic

I don’t really know what’s the problem but I hope it get fixed fast

somehow I can’t upload the diagnostic through the upload files fiels, so here a google drive link

Hi @darknesdragon,

Thank you for reporting this issue. We will forward it to our development team for further investigation. For now, please try the following suggestions below:

  1. Try different resolutions in the Settings of the spacedesk app on your Android device.
  2. Change to Encoding Type to Software Encoding and connect to Primary PC via USB for faster performance.

Thank you.

Hi @spacedesk-renz

thanks for the reply, I think I’ve replied before but somehow I think the reply is gone(?)

I’ve tried different resolution on H264 encoder, but it doesn’t work

I’ll try using Software Encoder with USB, but currently I don’t have any spare USB to do so, so I’ll update you once I have time for it

Hi @darknesdragon,

Please update us once you’ve tried using Software Encoding. Thank you.

Hi @spacedesk-renz

so far I’ve been using Software Encoding mode (wi-fi) during my session.

it depends a lot on connection and a slight hiccup could produce a significant delay, but if it’s not, it’s working fine though.

any finding on the H264 problem?

Hi @darknesdragon,

Can you provide the model of your Android device? Also, please try the latest update of the spacedesk Android app v2.1.37 and try to use Hardware Encoding with it. Thank you.
