Unable to Install/Update spacedesk Windows Driver – Older version cannot be removed and missing old .msi file
Quote from Vista on 03/10/2026, 08:52Hello spacedesk Support Team / Community,
I am experiencing a critical installation blockage while trying to install/update the spacedesk Windows Driver. My operating system is Windows 10 64-bit.
The Issue:
When running the new version installer, it fails. I receive two consecutive error pop-ups:
First window:
The older version of spacedesk Windows DRIVER cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.Upon clicking OK, a second window appears:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v2131.msi'...Additional Clarifications (Important):
I have already tried to manually uninstall the old driver, but it seems to have failed. The old version refuses to be removed through standard methods.
I do NOT have the v2131 installation package. Therefore, I cannot provide the requested
spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v2131.msifile to the installer to complete the uninstallation process. What I have tried so far:
Re-downloading the latest installer and running it, which resulted in the same error.
Attempting to manually uninstall spacedesk via “Control Panel -> Programs and Features”, which also failed.
My Request:
Because the old.msifile is missing and manual uninstallation has failed, the installer is stuck in an infinite loop. How can I completely clean up the residual old spacedesk driver and registry entries so I can successfully install the latest version?Attachments:
I have attached screenshots of both error messages.Thank you for your help!
